Winners!!!

Thank you to all who bid on my auctions! I do appreciate it, and if you didn't win, I still encourage you to donate to the Queensland Premier's Disaster Relief Fund. Queensland is a wonderful state with wonderful people, and they need all the help they can get right now. Thanks again for your generosity!

And now for the winners....

Auction #1 - Ruffle My Feathers Shawlette: Sabra, $45!
Auction #2 - Husky Creations Dangly Stitch Markers: Valula, $10!
Auction #3 - Wollmeise Twin in Tutu, donated by Carin from Round the Twist: Gina Costello, $38!
Auction #4 - BusyMind Designs Sunny Day Paisley Project Bag w/ Matching Stitch Markers: Kate, $50!
Auction #5 - Husky Creations LaceStitch Markers: Melissa Knitta, $8!

Altogether we raised $151.00! Not bad for a little fabric, yarn, and beads! Again, I'd like to thank everyone. We were one of the few US auctions (as far as I know), and I'm glad we were able to help! Winners, please contact me within 48 hours to let me know you're aware if your winning bid! Otherwise, I will have to let the next bidder nab your prize! :)

And now for the technical stuff...
(from Tori, grandmaster of benefit auctions and queen of awesomeness who started it all)

"All payments should be made into the Premier's Disaster Relief Fund. It is important that you receive proof of payment before you post out the prize to the winner of your auction or raffle.

If payment is made by Credit Card, a receipt will be emailed to the payer. This email should then be forwarded to you so that you can verify receipt number (for raffle winners) and/or payment amount (for auction winners).

If payment is made by internet bank deposit transfer, the person making the donation can save a pdf file at the time of making the transfer."

Auction #5

Another pretty set of stitch markers donated by Husky Creations! This is the Rainbow Lace/Sock Set. It includes ten stitch markers that will fit up to size US6 (4.0mm) needles. Bidding starts at $6.00.

Auction #4

This auction is for one of my standard project bags. This one is my Sunny Day Paisley bag. It has a yellow canvas base and white lining. You can choose the color of satin cord for the drawstring (I think blue or white would be best)! My bags are 6x6x10 inches and work great for small to medium WIPs. Also included in this auction are coordinating stitch markers made by me. These will fit up to size US15 (10mm) needles. Bidding starts at $28.

Auction #3

I may have to bid on this one! The lovely Carin from Round the Twist podcast donated a skein of WOLLMEISE (Woohoo!) Twin in Tutu! I'm sure you all know how awesome Wollmeise is to work with, and if you don't you should! Here's your chance! Twin is 80% merino, 20% nylon. Bidding starts at $30.00.

Auction #2

This is one of two sets of beautiful stitch markers donated by my talented friend Amanda, proprietor of the Etsy shop Husky Creations. This is the Rainbow Dangly Set. It contains 10 stitch markers that fit up to size US10 (6.0mm) needles. Bidding starts at $6.00.

Auction #1

This auction is for a Ruffle My Feathers shawlette made by yours truly! It is being auctioned with permission of the pattern designer (thanks, Caryl)! It was knit with String Theory Caper Sock Yarn in Shale. It has beautiful shades of blues, purples, and greys. Bidding starts at $40.

Auction Rules

This should be fairly simple (I hope)! Here are the steps to winning an item:
1. Leave a comment for the post, stating how much you'd like to bid. Starting bids will be listed with each item.
2. Come back often to check on your item(s) and rebid if you need to! (There is a strong possibility of more auctions being added later in the week, too - if you have anything you'd like to donate as an auction item, please let me know!)
3. Winners will be announced the night of Sunday, January 23rd.
4. Winners will go to the Queensland Government donation site and donate the winning amount. You will need to provide me proof of donation. I will cover the cost of postage in the US/Canada. If I have any devoted fans overseas, I will be happy to cover the amount equivalent to US postage if you are able to PayPal the rest!
Thanks again for your support!

Auction Starts Tomorrow!

I am finishing up some nice bags and stitch markers, I'm blocking a shawl, and picking up donations from friends for the auction. Please keep in mind that this is a *benefit* auction, and not a place to score a bargain. Every cent of your money will be going to help families desperately in need of any and all assistance.

A couple links for you:

Queensland Government Donation Site
This is where you will be sending your money. :)

Brisbane Times
This is a good site to see the damage that happened and the cleanup that has begun.

The auction will start tomorrow afternoon/evening (auctions run Monday-Monday in Brisbane, so I'm accounting for the time difference)!
Thanks again for your support!
Steph :)

Queensland Flood Relief Auction

Beginning Sunday (Monday, Australia time), I will be hosting a benefit auction for Queensland flood relief. I just returned from a visit with my brother, who lives in Brisbane. It breaks my heart to see the damage that this beautiful, friendly city is suffering. It will take them a long time to recover from the massive flooding that has occurred. The photo below was taken by my sister-in-law just down the street from their home. Note the bus stop sign and the street signs.

Winners will be donating directly to the flood relief fund so there is no question of where the money is going. I will cover postage within the States. If you are outside the States, I would be happy to work something out with you. You can click on the QLD Flood Appeal Auctions button for a full list of participating sites. Most are awesome Australian craft-y businesses, so check the location of the host(ess) before bidding.

More information will be coming as the auction approaches.

Welcome!

Alrighty! I cleared out all my old posts and I'm devoting this one (mostly) to my Etsy shop. I plan on using it for news about coming updates, posting pics of fabric I've acquired, and anything else that might hold a speck of interest! ;)

I returned from Australia last week with enough fabric for around 80 bags (yikes!) and I had purchased more fabric here before I left. So once I'm feeling better (gotta love that recycled plane air), I'll be busy getting some new bags sewn up for my wonderful customers!
